Why Even Lord Shiva Couldn't Escape the Dosh – A Deeper Truth Behind Shiv Tattva

Let’s try to understand a very deep and powerful truth — even Lord Shiva, the supreme destroyer, was affected by a dosh (curse). This may sound surprising, but there’s a strong message behind it that connects to all of us, especially the spiritual seekers or sadhaks.

Shiv Tattva Comes with a Dosh – A Powerful Truth for Every Sadhak

There’s a deep spiritual truth many seekers don’t fully grasp at first — Shiv Tattva, the divine energy of Lord Shiva, comes with a dosh (a spiritual burden). And because of this dosh, a sadhak who carries Shiv Tattva often can’t use their spiritual energy to help themselves, even though they can do wonders for others.

The Divine Example of Lord Shiva

Long ago, Lord Shiva was cursed after cutting off the fifth head of Lord Brahma. The skull from that head clung to him and followed him wherever he went. Despite visiting sacred places, performing intense tapas (penance), and seeking guidance from saints, he couldn’t free himself from the dosh.

In his effort to overcome it, Lord Shiva created the powerful Tarak Mantra, hoping it would help him get rid of the curse. But to his surprise, the mantra had no effect on his own dosh. However, when others chanted it, they were freed from their karmic burdens. Even today, Lord Shiva continues to chant the Tarak Mantra — not for his own relief, but to empower others to break free from their curses.

This is why he remains in Kashi as Kashi Vishwanath, bound by the dosh, but liberating others.

Sadhaks with Shiv Tattva: The Same Pattern

Let’s take a simple example that many can relate to:

Sometimes, a person finds that when they share advice, guidance, or healing energy with others, it works beautifully. People feel better, more peaceful, even transformed. But when that same person tries to apply those teachings or practices to their own life, they feel stuck — as if the energy doesn’t flow inward.

This leads to confusion: “Why does everything work for others, but not for me?”

It’s often only when they speak with their Guru or reflect deeply that the truth comes out:

“You carry Shiv Tattva. Your power isn’t meant to serve yourself — it flows best when it serves others. Like Lord Shiva, your path is of selfless giving.”

This understanding transforms frustration into acceptance — and even pride. Because to carry Shiv Tattva is to walk the path of the divine.

Why Gurutattva & Sankalp Matters

Even a powerful mantra like the Ashaeiynn mantra doesn’t work for a Shiv Tattva sadhak unless it’s supported by Gurutattva (divine teacher energy) and Sankalp (pure, focused intention). These act like the key that unlocks the power of the mantra — especially when the mantra is used for others.

So, while a sadhak may feel their mantra isn’t working for themselves, that same mantra can bring deep transformation to someone else when used with sankalp.

The Real Power: Helping Others

It may seem tough — to carry such energy and not feel its benefits personally. But that’s the very nature of Shiv Tattva.

Lord Shiva didn’t seek blessings. He gave them. He didn’t chase freedom. He offered it to others. And through that, he became the greatest.

Final Truth: Shiv Tattva Comes with Dosh

So here’s the truth:

Shiv Tattva comes with a dosh — a burden of spiritual responsibility.

A sadhak with Shiv Tattva may not be able to help themselves…

But they become a source of healing, light, and blessings for others.

And that’s how they rise — not by receiving, but by giving.

“The one who cannot heal themselves, but heals the world — that is the one who carries the tattva of Shiva.”

This is why many of us, even when blessed with spiritual power, find it hard to use that energy for our own healing. Because the moment Shiv Tattva awakens within someone, it brings along a sacred burden — the dosh.

And that dosh quietly says: “Your power is not for yourself. It’s for the world.”

So if you’ve ever wondered why your energy helps others more than it helps you — now you know.

You carry the Tattva of Shiva. And with it, the dosh of divine service.
