Prayer isn’t just about asking. It’s about connecting.
Long before we knew the term “prayer,” our ancient Rishis had already realized it was a divine tool—a bridge between the individual soul and the cosmic source.

But what gives prayer this power?
The answer is: Prarthana Shakti

What Is Prarthana Shakti?

Prarthana Shakti is not something outside of us. It is our very own Kundalini Shakti—the inner energy that can rise, transform, and connect us to the Param Tattva (Ultimate Truth).

Kundalini by itself is powerful, but when aligned with sincere prayer, it gains direction and purpose. This is how the great saints of India performed miracles, received divine knowledge, and transcended ordinary human limitations.

Where Is This Written? Look to the Vedas

All of this isn’t just philosophical theory—it’s deeply rooted in the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of spiritual wisdom.

There are four Vedas:

  • Rigveda
  • Samaveda
  • Yajurveda
  • Atharvaveda

Each Veda has four parts:

  • Samhitas – Hymns and mantras
  • Brahmanas – Ritual instructions
  • Aranyakas – Meditative explanations
  • Upanishads – Pure spiritual wisdom

Among these, the Upanishads hold the core truths about the soul, reality, and the nature of divine connection.

How the Upanishads Were Born

Traditionally, Vedic knowledge is divided into three paths:

  1. Karma Kanda – Rituals and actions
  2. Upasana Kanda – Worship and devotion (includes Gyan and Bhakti)
  3. Jnana Kanda – Wisdom and self-realization

The Upanishads were born from the Gyan Kand, but more than that, the word Upanishad itself tells a story:
Upa” means near, “Nishad” means to sit.
So Upanishad literally means “sitting near the Guru”—the knowledge that flows when a student sits close to divine wisdom.

The 11 Key Upanishads You Should Know

Among the 108 known Upanishads, 11 are considered most important:

  1. Aitareya (Rigveda): Speaks of the three births of the soul
  2. Brhadaranyaka: Conversations on the identity of the Atman
  3. Isa (Isha): Teaches how God pervades everything
  4. Taittiriya: Describes bliss and the layers of existence
  5. Katha: Dialogue between Yama (Death) and Nachiketa
  6. Chandogya: Explains the power of ‘OM’ and meditation
  7. Kena: Discusses the force behind all actions
  8. Mundaka: Teaches the higher vs lower knowledge
  9. Mandukya: Entirely focused on OM and states of consciousness
  10. Prasna: Questions on life’s origin and energy
  11. Svetasvatara: Speaks of Ishwar and divine power

Let’s Focus on the Isha Upanishad

The Isha Upanishad (also known as Ishavasyopanishad) is especially important.
It comes from the Yajurveda (Shukla branch) and is also known as the 40th chapter of the Vajasaneyi Samhita.

It begins with the mantra:
“Om Ishavasyam Idam Sarvam” – The Lord pervades everything in this universe.

But here’s the most powerful truth it reveals:

Even if someone is spiritual or devoted, if they lack Prarthana Shakti, their worship remains incomplete.

Yes, the Isha Upanishad clearly states that only through the power of sincere prayer can a person merge with the Param Tattva, the supreme cosmic consciousness.

What the Isha Upanishad Reveals About Prayer and Param Tattva

The Isha Upanishad gives us a profound insight:
A person may walk many spiritual paths and receive divine grace in different ways—but to truly connect with the Param Tattva, the Supreme Cosmic Truth, one must awaken and use their Prarthana Shakti—the inner power of prayer.

This means that no matter how devoted or spiritual someone is, without this inner power of heartfelt, conscious prayer, their efforts can feel empty or incomplete. It is not just rituals or devotion that create transformation—it’s the channeling of deep, sincere prayer that opens the door to the universal consciousness.

When Prayer Becomes Cosmic?

When a person regularly connects with the Param Tattva through genuine prayer, something powerful happens—

Their Prarthana Shakti begins to align with the cosmic force itself.

Over time, their energy doesn’t just remain personal—it expands, merges, and becomes one with the universal Shakti, the cosmic life force.

This realization wasn’t just theoretical for ancient saints. They lived it.

Bringing Param Tattva to Earth

Our ancient Rishis and saints discovered a beautiful truth:

If Prarthana Shakti becomes as powerful as Param Tattva, then this divine energy can be brought down to Earth, channelized through the human body.

But here’s the most fascinating part:
They realized that when this energy is properly channeled, it doesn’t just elevate a person spiritually—it begins to create an astral version of the person, a higher dimension of their being.

So the takeaway from the Isha Upanishad is simple, yet transformative:

“It’s not just about worship. It’s about how deeply you pray.”
“It’s not just about belief. It’s about connection.”

When that connection happens through sincere Prarthana,
You don’t just reach Param Tattva—you become a living channel of it.

The Secret Journey from Human to Kuldevta — The Divine Bridge to Param Tattva

Let’s dive into a fascinating spiritual truth:
The divine beings we now call Kuldevtas—our ancestral deities—were once humans, just like us. These were the same great saints and seekers who discovered the way to channel Param Tattva, the Supreme Cosmic Energy, onto Earth.

They didn’t just worship blindly.
They experimented, practiced, failed, rose again, and eventually succeeded in something profound holding the Param Tattva within themselves. That is how they became the divine energies we now revere.

Can We Channel Param Tattva Just Through Bhakti?

A lot of us wonder:
If I’m a true bhakt (devotee), can’t I directly channel the Param Tattva through devotion alone?

The answer is no.
Just being spiritual or devoted doesn’t automatically give us the capacity to hold or channel universal energy. Even the great saints knew this. That’s why they found a path, a process, a structure to make this possible—and that structured energy is what we now call Kuldevta.

The Case of Shankar—The Human Who Became Lord Shiva

Let’s understand this deeper with the example of Lord Shiva, who was once a human named Shankar.

Shankar was a seeker—just like any other spiritual person—but with an intense desire to connect with the Param Tattva. Now here’s the key:
You can’t bring the Param Tattva (cosmic energy) directly onto Earth.
Think of Param Tattva as the sun—we can’t bring the sun to Earth, but we can use its reflection. Similarly, Shankar discovered a Tattva within himself—a divine inner space where he could reflect and store this cosmic energy.

But there was a problem…

The Ten Leaks of Human Energy

Shankar realized he was losing energy through ten different channels—through thoughts, emotions, desires, senses, attachments, etc. So, he began a powerful journey of closing each of these energy leaks, one by one, over many births.

And finally…
He succeeded.

He created a stable vessel within himself strong enough to hold the Param Tattva. Once this happened, something miraculous occurred:

Even when external forces tried to shake him, his inner energy remained stable.

That inner holding power became known as Shiv Tattva—the divine structure or base needed to contain the vast cosmic energy.

Shiv Tattva: The Base of All Deities

When saints and seekers saw that Shankar could hold the Param Tattva, they knew they too could walk this path—but without repeating the same endless cycle of births and efforts.

So what did they do?

  • First, they worshipped Lord Shiva
  • Then, they received the base—the Shiv Tattva
  • With that base, they could now hold the Param Tattva
  • And after that, they too became Kuldevtas—divine beings capable of channeling cosmic energy for their lineage

This is why Lord Shiva is called “Devo ke Dev Mahadev”—the God of Gods.
Because every deity carries a part of Shiva, but Shiva carries no part of any deity.

Kuldevta: The Cosmic Channel in Your Lineage

So now, here’s the beautiful truth:
In every lineage, there exists a Kuldevta—a deity who received Shiv Tattva, who became the holder and distributor of the Param Tattva for the entire family line.

This is how cosmic energy reaches us—through our Kuldevta.

And if someone chooses to ignore this divine channel and instead wants to connect with Param Tattva directly, they would need to do everything Lord Shiva and the ancient saints did. That means lifetimes of tapasya, bhakti, and complete inner transformation.

Do We All Have Shiv Tattva from Birth?

Yes.
But it comes to us through our Kuldevta—they provide the base. If we disconnect from them, we might still survive spiritually, but we lose the direct access to the most powerful cosmic channel.

The truth is:

Even if we forget our Kuldevta, they never forget us.
Because they are the only bridge between us and the Param Tattva.

So if you want to access the true divine energy, the key lies in your lineage, in your Kuldevta, in the Shiv Tattva they hold for you.

It’s not just tradition—it’s the spiritual technology of the cosmos.

Why Even Lord Shiva Follows the Divine Rules He Created

A lot of people wonder —
If I’m a true devotee of Lord Shiva, can’t I get Shiv Tattva directly from him?

The truth is profound:
Even Lord Shiva doesn’t break the spiritual laws that he himself discovered and followed.

You see, Lord Shiva did intense tapasya, deep sadhana, and took many births to finally gain the capacity to hold Param Tattva, the universal cosmic energy. This inner foundation he created is known as Shiv Tattva—the energy structure that can hold the highest cosmic power.

But here’s the important part:

Lord Shiva never handed over Shiv Tattva directly to anyone—not even his closest devotees.

Instead, he created a divine process, a spiritual system through which anyone can reach that state—but only by following the same path he did, step by step.

The Role of Kuldevta in This Divine Design

After Shiva discovered Shiv Tattva, those who followed his path—the great saints and seekers—also went through deep sadhana to energize and hold this tattva. Over time, they became the divine energies we now call Kuldevtas.

So when we want to connect to the Param Tattva today, Lord Shiva lovingly guides us, but…

He will point us back to our Kuldevta, because that’s the proper channel.

It’s not about favoritism or devotion levels.
It’s about respecting the divine system—the channel Lord Shiva himself created and used.

Divine Law Over Divine Emotion

No matter how pure or devoted you are,
No matter how much you love Lord Shiva,

You still need to go through your Kuldevta to receive Shiv Tattva, and then, gradually, Param Tattva.

Why?

Because the Shiv Tattva is a powerful base, and your Kuldevta holds it for you in your lineage.
They have already done the hard work of channelizing, stabilizing, and energizing that energy over lifetimes.

Even Lord Shiva respects this channel.
So when you worship Shiva with pure devotion, he helps you by showing you the path—he’ll direct you to your Kuldevta, because that’s how you’re meant to receive real spiritual power.

How Shiv Tattva, Guru, and Kuldevta Work Together: The Channel of Divine Prayer

Many people wonder—how does someone receive Shiv Tattva in other spiritual traditions that don’t follow the Kuldevta system?

In those paths—like the Ashtang Yog Paddhati—the focus is on Guru Tattva. There, a person receives Shiv Tattva through their Guru, who acts as a channel between the seeker and the Param Tattva. But here’s the catch:

To truly connect with your Guru, you must already have Shiv Tattva activated within you—and that first spark usually comes from your Kuldevta.

So whether you know your Kuldevta or not, their grace is silently active in your life if you’ve been blessed with a true Guru.
And here’s something even deeper:

You don’t choose your Guru. Guru Tattva chooses you.

If someone doesn’t have a Guru, then the only way to receive Shiv Tattva is through their Kuldevta.
If someone wants to get Shiv Tattva directly (without either a Guru or Kuldevta), they must walk the same long and difficult path that Shankar (who later became Lord Shiva) did—through intense tapasya, multiple births, and the closure of all energy-leaking paths.

Channel vs Direct Connection: Who Has Stronger Prarthana Shakti?

Now, let’s answer the real question:

Who has more powerful prayer (Prarthana Shakti)—someone connected directly to Param Tattva, or someone connected through a divine channel?

Surprisingly, it’s the one who follows the channelized path—through Kuldevta or Guru.

Why?

Because Prarthana travels through Kundalini Shakti, which is directly influenced by how much Universal Cosmic Energy (Param Tattva) a person is receiving.

  • A person with a proper channel (like Guru or Kuldevta) receives this cosmic energy in greater quantity and with stability.
  • A person with no channel may receive it irregularly or weakly—prayers may get “lost” on the way, as there’s no designated path or energy to carry them.

How Prarthana Actually Works

Every person tries to raise their energy through Mooladhar (root chakra) using dhyan, jap, or yog.
But when someone is receiving energy through a Kuldevta channel, that prayer follows the same channel upwards—and reaches its destination safely.
These people are often called Dev Manush—humans with divine energy. Their prayers are received and responded to.

If someone doesn’t have their Kuldevta’s active grace, but is connected to other deities, they might get connected to Guru Tattva instead.
But again, even Guru Tattva requires Shiv Tattva, which originates from Kuldevta’s blessings.

Why the Channel Is Important

Imagine someone wanting to reach Kailash Mansarovar.
A divine soul may disappear and appear there instantly—but an ordinary person must walk the long and challenging path and the person who got that power has to do tap, bhakti ,sadhna in his whole life and at the end he received it so even if this person got this power he can only teleport him self only not other thing he achieved in his life and the person who goes through channelized path will reach the kailash mansarovar in less amount of time and he has still time to achieve and do other things.

That teleportation power? It’s earned only after lifetimes of sadhana.

Why the Channelized Path is the Smartest Way to Reach the Divine

Let’s say someone wants to reach Kailash Mansarovar, the sacred seat of Lord Shiva.

Now, a divine soul—who has done lifetimes of tap, sadhna, and bhakti—might be able to teleport and reach there instantly. Sounds magical, right?

But here’s the catch:
That soul spent his whole life gaining that one power. Even after getting it, he can only use it to teleport himself—not his other achievements, not his years of bhakti or karmas. The process is long, intense, and solitary.

Now take a normal person who follows the channelized path—guided by Kuldevta or Guru Tattva.
He walks the set route, step by step, and still reaches Kailash Mansarovar—but with less time, less struggle, and still has energy left to achieve other spiritual goals.

Now let’s look at Lord Parashuram’s story.

When he challenged Lord Ram and realized Ram was no ordinary being—but the Param Tattva—he immediately surrendered.
But Ram still had to release the energy of the divine bow (Lord Vishnu’s weapon), and asked Parashuram:

“What should I take from you—your tap, your bhakti, your karmas, or your teleportation power?”

Parashuram offered everything except his teleportation power, because he had already donated the Earth and couldn’t stay here anymore. That power was his only way to move between worlds.

This shows how hard-earned and limited these powers can be when one walks the path alone.

The Takeaway

If we try to walk the entire spiritual path alone, like Lord Shankar or Lord Parashuram, it may take lifetimes.
But if we follow the channelized route—through Kuldevta —we can still reach the divine, and save time, energy, and effort to fulfill our soul’s deeper journey.

That’s the beauty and power of the channelized spiritual path.

Why the Channelized Path Is Shorter, Stronger, and Safer

If someone chooses the channelized way—through Kuldevta or Guru—they can reach Param Tattva faster, with stability, and without repeating the intense processes Lord Shiva or the Kuldevtas went through.

This is why, in ancient times, people’s prayers were extremely powerful—they followed their family traditions, stayed connected to their Kuldevtas, and thus had direct access to the cosmic energy.

Today, many have lost that connection due to modern lifestyles and western influences.

The Takeaway: Don’t Walk Alone When There’s a Divine Shortcut

Walking the spiritual path alone—like Lord Shankar —can take lifetimes. They went through intense tap, sadhna, and sacrifices to reach the Param Tattva. It’s not impossible, but it’s a long and difficult road.

But there’s a smarter, smoother way.

When we walk the channelized path—through our Kuldevta —we still reach the same divine goal, but with more stability, less struggle, and in less time.
This is the real strength of choosing a guided spiritual journey.

What If You Don’t Know Your Kuldevta?

To even take birth on Earth, everyone must have the grace of a Kuldevta.
So if someone doesn’t know their Kuldevta but their prayers are working, it means the Kuldevta’s grace is still active, silently supporting them.

However, if someone has completely lost the grace of their Kuldevta, then even if they have some level of Shiv Tattva, it will remain inactive and unenergized.
Their prayers will lack strength, direction, and response.

Final Thought: Your Channel Is Your Power

Prarthana works best when it has a path.
Shiv Tattva flows when there’s a base to hold it.
Guru appears when you’re ready, and Kuldevta supports you even when you’re unaware.

So the best way to build powerful Prarthana Shakti, receive Shiv Tattva, and walk toward Param Tattva is to:

  • Reconnect with your Kuldevta
  • Strengthen your Guru connection
  • Respect the channel that the divine created for you

Because this channel is not just a shortcut—it’s your lifeline to the cosmic divine energy.
